Diary Tribute to Peter Franklin's Service to the Community - November 2020

Peter along with his late wife Glenda both have had a firm interest in theatre. He was a member of the Randolph Players and then Dalgety Players of which he has been Secretary for a number of years, producing the “Masque” in 1990, which was the town’s Silver Jubilee Year. Even before 1990, Peter was organising and directing various plays including the Players Annual Pantomime. After serving on Inverkeithing Community Council, he became a member of Dalgety Bay and Hillend Community Council after Hillend voted to join Dalgety Bay. He has served our community steadfastly becoming Vice Chairman then Chairman in 2016 and for various periods afterwards. He has served on the Silver and Golden Jubilee Committees and presently represents the Community Council as a Trustee on the Muirdean Environmental Trust Fund and on the Mossmorran and Braefoot Bay Community and Safety Liaison Committee. Peter has served our community well and I am proud to know him, not only as a former colleague but as a friend.

Colin McPhail MBE, Chairman of Dalgety Bay and Hillend Community Council 1988-2016

Rumour has it that Peter could be the longest serving Community Council member in Scotland. We are looking to verify this.
